Conventional closed die forging is the most common type of aluminum forging. They are produced with a single set of finishing dies or with block and finishing dies depending on the design criteria. Conventional forgings have less machine inventory and tighter tolerances than block forgings but require additional manufacturing costs, both for the additional die set and for the additional manufacturing steps required to produce this man.
